Review:

I love chocolate dipped things, candy, fruit, nuts, etc. How could you not? Chocolate almost turns everything its with into a tasty snack, however in this case, it does the opposite. Not gonna lie, when I saw these I was thinking this could be the next biggest thing since PB&J, but I was dead wrong. Walgreen’s packaging is always nice, clean, simple, never flashy but straight to the point. Using their brand “Nice!” for a slather of their products, the packaging on these follow the same standard formula. As you can tell from the pictures, the appearance of these gummy bears are pretty shoddy. There might be the factor that gummy bears are too soft to allow the chocolate to form properly around it to make the bear look nice, but in this they just dip and don’t do any kind of shelling. I think that is why the appearance of these gummy bears look like crap, no glossiness, no definition.

How do I start with the taste? It just blows. Maybe its the quality of the chocolate they use, maybe its the gummy bear they use. Either way, garbage in, garbage out right? I think these are alright to try for novelty sake, but if you think these are gonna hit the spot for you don’t even think about it. At least the overall Texture for this gummy bear is still nice and soft, most likely due in part to being “protected” by the chocolate layer to seal in its freshness. They are chewy, but the combination of the chocolate and gummy bear together make up for a weird combination. In terms of price, this is pretty average in terms of the gummy bear world. Nothing less, nothing more.

Overall, I rate these gummy bears 2.5 G’s out of a possible 5 as they are just not quite the chocolate dipped snack you would ever crave for. This is truly just for novelty sake and wouldn’t expect this product to sell like hotcakes, so go ahead and try a box, but don’t expect the typical glory of chocolate dipped snacks.
